Vestax Vci 100 Traktor Pro 2 Mapping
Nov 10, 2008 12 months ago I set out to create a mapping for our readers that would tap into the hidden powers of Traktor 3 without requiring a giant controller interface. /presonus-studio-one-451-update.html. Using the VCI-100 as a template, I designed a layout that made working with controllerism creative, fun and straight forward by combining many functions on single. This mapping is intended for Vestax VCI-100 without any firmware upgrades. This mapping is intended for use with Traktor 2.6.0. Most of the changes made focus on remapping FX Effect controls. VCI-400 Traktor 2.64 Mapping Ver. 6.0-by viper for Firmware 2.03 (Serato DJ) 27.09.: small Bug Fixes (new Upload) If you Upgrade to Serato DJ with the new Firmware 2.03 and want to use.
The VCI-100 might be dead, but we’ve got good news for all our faithful VCI-100 users. After some persistent requests from our passionate forum community, we decided to produce one final overlay to accommodate the official DJ Techtools VCI-100SE v4 mapping, designed for Traktor Pro 2.
For a little historical background, it’s been five years since Vestax’s VCI-100 was released and nearly four years since the DJ Techtools modded VCI-100 SE/Arcade controllers came to life. /cscoop-auto-tune-tweets.html. We even officially announced the controller’s death last year in this article. However, these tanks continue to be used and loved by a large array of both new and longtime DJs, many of whom are still active in the VCI-100 section of our forum.
As a result of these users’ passion for the VCI-100, DJ Techtools received a lot of requests to create a new mapping for Traktor Pro 2 when the new software was announced in early 2011 and shortly after we released a new V4 mapping that allowed use of the new TPro2 features such as the Loop Recorder and Sample Decks, leveraging them in an interesting fashion. Along the way, some other mapping features were also revamped, including a slight change to the FX routing in Fader FX mode that allow some of our popular Midi Fighter Classic mappings to integrate more smoothly with the VCI-100 (a common request).
All in all, the V4 mapping was well received and we were happy to give our dedicated community another reason to keep jamming out on the VCI-100 before relegating it to storage. However, providing a new mapping alone simply wasn’t enough, and soon after a forum driven outcry for a new overlay began. Well, without further ado, the new overlay is now here!
The new VCI-100SE V4 Overlay went back to its roots and sports the DJ Techtools’ standard blue text instead of the gold text common to all older V3 overlays.
There are Standard and Arcade versions of the overlay available in our webstore now here for just $29.99. Check them out and get ’em while they last!
Lastly, I want to personally thank all of the dedicated VCI-100 users in our forum who have enjoyed the V4 mapping and made this overlay a reality. Without your perseverance and undying support for this beast of a controller, this would have never happened. You guys rock!
The VCI-100 may be dead, but the new model is alive and kickin’… and we customized it, too. Get a VCI-400 Special Edition in the DJTT webstore!

For those who seek it, here is my mapping for Virtual DJ Pro 7. All mappings are for decks A and B only.
This is a work in progress but here's what I've got so far:
Cue Grid
-sets/jumps 8 cue points
-'Cue' button + cue grid button, deletes individual cue points
Gratify Grid
-Top row is BeatGrid, FlippinDouble and Flanger. I have other 3rd party effect plugins mapped to some of the other buttons but if you dont have these, obviously they wont work. The effects engage while the button is pressed. However you can use the 'Loop Active' button directly above the grid to toggle the selected effect on/off. Above the 'Loop Active' button, the two center knobs at the top of the device control the effect parameters
Transport
-Deck A(left to right): loop half, set 4 count loop, set 8 count loop, loop double, loop out, play+sync.
-Deck B(left to right): play+sync, loop out, loop half, set 4 count loop, set 8 count loop, loop double.
Headphone Cue
-For decks A & B, the headphone buttons above the volume faders will activate the cue for that deck.
You will need to go into the VDJ settings 'Sound Setup' tab. In the drop-down list, select 'Advanced Config'. Click the 'Advanced Config..' button. Click the '+' button to add a new line. In the first drop-down, select 'Headphones. In the second, select 'Vestax VCI-400'. In the third, select 'Output 5&6'. Click 'OK', then 'OK' again to exit settings. I have mapped the headphone volume knob to the Master Volume knob directly above the 'Shift' button. However, you must make sure the headphones' 'Level' knob next to the headphone jack is turned up.
I have also mapped the crossfader, volume faders, tempo faders, EQ & gain knobs, browser encoder, and load/sync buttons.
To make it work:
-Download and unzip Generic MIDI mapping(VCI-400SE v1.0).zip
-Copy the Generic MIDI mapping(VCI-400SE).xml file to your 'DocumentsVirtualDJMappers' directory.
-Set both decks to 'Jog FX' mode via the switches at the bottom of the device.
-That's it. Launch VDJ.
Changes since previous version:
-Removed Jog FX. Replaced with semi-standard beat-matching functionality.
-Added cue delete functionality
-Added headphone cue functionality
I fully welcome all comments/questions/suggestions. Also, I'm willing to help anyone map specific press effects to the Gratify grid.
